Stock Photographers FAQ

Q. Are you accepting new stock photographers?
A. Yes, we're always looking for new talent.

Q. Can I sell the same photo through another agency?
A. No. We only accept photos that are given to us exclusively.

Q. How much will it pay me?
A. Based on your experience, and quality and newsworthiness of your photos, you will be paid 50% to 80% for each sale.

Q. When and how do you pay me?
A. It is easy for us to pay through paypal. But we can also mail you checks. There is no minimum level that you need to reach before payment. You will be paid for all earnings for the previous month.

Q. How can I track what is going on?
A. You can track your sales, and view your earnings, using our online stats page. Only non-exclusive rights are sold through the cart and can be tracked. For exclusive rights, the clients are usually charged more, based on the type of usage and the time period. In such cases you will be mailed a copy of the payment voucher form, and the details regarding the transaction.

Q. What is the difference between Model Release and Editorial Photography?
A. Model released stock tends to be shot using professional models who have been paid, but the defining factor is that the people shown have signed a model release form allowing their picture to be used in any context and in relation to any subject.
Editorial photography is essentially photojournalism. It shows pictures of real people in specific contexts. The pictures have been taken with the knowledge & consent of the people shown but are not model released for use relating to any topic. When using the pictures you should be sensitive to the welfare of any people pictured by ensuring that your use of a picture is consistent with the context in which it was taken.

Q. Where can I get Model release sample forms?

Q. Are my photos sold as Right Protected OR Royalty Free?
A. Stock Images we sell are "rights-protected" because our agency closely guards the usage. If the buyers want to use the image for another situation, they will have to re-negotiate the price with us. We never sell your images as a part of any collection in Royalty Free CDs or as individual Royalty Free images from our website.

Q. What happens when one of my photos is sold?
A. The sale is automatically registered in the stats, and we will give a link for the client to download the images once the payment is verified. If the client buys exclusive rights to the image, we will take it off from the active list for the period of time the rights were sold. If it is a non-exclusive rights buy, the image will stay in the site so that others can buy it.

Q. If I decide to leave your stock agency, how long before my photos are taken off from your site?
A. You will be able to delete the photos yourself. But if you have an written agreement with us, it depends on  the agreement. Please refer to the documents.

Q. Can you help me put my own portfolio web site on the Internet along with featuring my photos in your site?
A. Sure, we will help you in having an online presence. Please visit www.pixviewer.com, our parent company.
